Health Center

The health center offers periodic health examinations, health consultations and emergency first aid treatment. A healthy mind and body are an important part of a meaningful student life.

Periodic Health Examinations

  • All students should get annual health examinations. Please see the bulletin board for specific information.
  • Students who do not get the health examination cannot be issued a Health Examination Certificate that is needed for job hunting activities, off-campus training and license applications.

Health Consultations with Physicians

If you are worried about your health and would like to talk to someone about it, you can consult with a physician. 
Information about medical facilities near the campus, such as office hours and maps, are also available.

Doctor (Center Director) Consultations

  • Komagome Campus: Tuesdays
  • Sakado Campus: Wednesdays

School Doctor Consultations

  • Sakado Campus: Once a month

Gynecologist Consultation

  • Komagome Campus: Once a month

Generally, reservations are required
Dates and times are posted on the heath center bulletin board.
Hospital introductions will be provided as needed.

First Aid

  • If you are injured or suddenly become ill on campus, please come to the health center as soon as possible before your symptoms worsen.
  • Be careful not to hurt yourself using chemicals, instruments, or other materials during experiments or workshops.
  • Beds are available to rest in when you feel sick.

Certificate of Recovery from Infectious Diseases Caught While Attending School

If you catch, or you think that you may have caught, one of the following contagious diseases, please visit a doctor for an examination. After you recover, please have the medical facility issue a “Certificate of Recovery from Infectious Disease” and submit it to the health center when you return to school.

Community college department students and university students who catch influenza should follow the directions of their respective health centers.

Types of Contagious Diseases

Type One Contagious Diseases 
Ebola hemorrhagic fever, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (smallpox), plague, Marburg virus, Lassa fever, polio, diphtheria, SARS, avian influenza (H5N1)

Type Two Contagious Diseases 
Influenza (except H5N1), whooping cough, measles, epidemic parotitis (mumps), epidemic roseola (German measles), varicella (chicken pox), pharyngoconjunctival fever (pool fever), tuberculosis

Type Three Contagious Diseases 
Cholera, bacillary dysentery, E. coli infection, typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever, epidemic keratoconjunctivitis, acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis (Apollo 11 disease), other infectious diseases
